LET TODAY BE THE DAY YOU GIVE UP WHO YOU’VE BEEN FOR WHO YOU CAN BECOME!
You’ve heard the saying, “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” That’s where we come in – you set the goal, we provide the plan! It honestly doesn’t get much easier than that – all you have to do is get crystal clear around the end result you’re looking for, write it down and show up for camp. Even better – communicate your goal to both your trainer and your Boot Camp ladies. You’ll be amazed at the support, encouragement and motivation you receive as a result.
So how do you set those all-important goals?
- Set one big goal at a time
There’s nothing wrong with simultaneously setting a few goals, but there is enormous power in setting one big goal at a time. This allows you to develop a razor-sharp focus on what it is that you would like to achieve, while also ensuring you don’t become overwhelmed, overly busy and over-committed.
ACTION POINT: Decide WHAT you’d like to achieve and break it down into 3-monthly smaller bite-sized goals.
- Visualize your goal daily
There has been so much research on the power of visualizing your goals that it’s hard to ignore! Visualizing what you will look like, feel like and experience once you have achieved your goal will help you focus and stay motivated.
ACTION POINT: Spend time visualizing your goals before going to sleep at night. Alternatively, create a Vision Board and place it somewhere you will see it each and every day.
- Reward yourself en-route
Why not come up with some exciting rewards for each time you hit a milestone? It could be anything from a facial when you can run twice around the field without stopping to a new hairstyle when you have lost 3kgs.
ACTION POINT: Itemize the various rewards and “treats” that you’d love to enjoy and allocate them to individual milestones. That way, you won’t only be reaching your goals but also enjoying some well-earned rewards along the way!
- Be aware of what trips you up
We all have things that cause us to stumble on life’s journey and fall off the path. It therefore makes sense to know what your weak points are and plan ahead for them. For example, if you find it difficult to get to camp in winter then lay out your workout gear the night before, or reward yourself with a cappuccino after camp.
ACTION POINT: Have a plan for each of your excuses – don’t rely solely on motivation!
- Now your WHY!
Sometimes we get so focused on the WHAT, that we don’t take time to identify the WHY. For example, if one of your goals is to lose 5kgs (the WHAT), it is important to remember that you are losing weight to give you more energy, help you feel more confident, make it easier to run 5kms etc. (the WHY).
ACTION POINT: Remind yourself of your WHY every time you think of buying into your excuses and taking the easy way out. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes!
At the end of the day, you are the only person that can achieve your goals. So make sure you give yourself every possible chance of success. Know WHAT you want to achieve, WHY you want to achieve it, and what to DO to make it happen.
