Let the enthusiasm and energy of the group be your fuel!

It’s crazy how many fitness and diet trends come and go – and how each new “amazing” discovery has a quick sign-up rate as everyone hopes it will be a quick fix:

Eat breakfast. Never eat breakfast because you should be intermittent fasting. Not eating slows down your metabolism. Eat six meals a day. Don’t eat for six hours in between meals. Don’t eat too much protein. Eat protein at every meal. Try juicing. Avoid juices as they lack fibre. Carbs are evil. Low GI carbs are fabulous. NEVER EAT GLUTEN. Gluten-free diets are not for everyone. Dairy should be avoided. Eat lots of calcium to strengthen your bones.

You get the idea.

Knowing that each day provides a different workout means that you will very rarely (if ever) get bored. Plus, it’s incredibly motivating to see others reach their goals and achieve tangible results – which, in turn, makes you want to work even harder!

  • SUPPORT SYSTEM

Not everyone is blessed with a powerful support system in life, which is one of the reasons why group training becomes a safe space to be. With each month that passes, these workout buddies become strong friendships that support, encourage and accept you exactly as you are. There’s nothing more powerful than a group of women that band together and want the best for each other!

  • ACCOUNTABILITY

Once you’ve signed up for the next four weeks – you become accountable to yourself, your workout buddies and your trainer for showing up and doing the work. There’s something quite magical about it – not to mention motivating and encouraging. You know your presence will be missed!

  • FRIENDSHIPS

These ladies often see you at your worst, and don’t mind in the slightest. There you are – first thing in the morning with no make-up on and your hair scraped back, or at the end of the day with your last nerve hanging in the balance – and they are just genuinely happy to see you. Exactly as you are!

  • FUN

Can anything be better than one workout buddy saying, “So THIS happened the other day!” Closely followed by a story that has you all in fits of laughter mid-plank. Don’t ever underestimate the power of laughter on days when you really need it. Sometimes, it can change the trajectory of your day. And sometimes, even, your life.

So there you have it – six reasons why group training has stood the test of time, and continues to deliver tangible results and change people’s lives – month after month and year after year.
