David van Ryneveld
POLOKWANE (Pietersburg High School)
David has been a keen sportsman from a very young age. On leaving school, he attended 2 years of military training and then completed a BSc degree and Honours in Biokinetics at the University of Potchefstroom. He represented Limpopo Province in various sports including cricket, power-lifting and bodybuilding. Later on, he competed in various endurance events including Voltaren Canoe Iron Man in 2000. His passion is still rowing but he also greatly enjoys mountain biking and other outdoor activities. David worked as a Biokineticist for a neurosurgeon for 2 years and was mainly involved with rehabilitation. While he enjoyed this, he found his work only benefited a small number of individuals and so subsequently he started a small health club in Polokwane, targeting a more general population and practicing Biokinetics on a part time basis. Currently he is involved with fitness and conditioning on a permanent basis. David has realized that a very small percentage of people live the life they dream of, and that physical activity or lack thereof can be the initiator to poor habits, imbalance and limited character development. His passion is thus to influence people to live quality lives and use a positive and encouraging exercise environment as the starting tool. “A mans character is essentially the sum of his habits” John Maxwell.
